What makes The Astor Alliance different is the level of experience we have operating small businesses, working with small businesses; and all the highs and lows that come with small business.  Although full time consultants or retired managers from large organizations have great experience, it is not small business experience.  The Astor Alliance has that experience.

Background of Managing Member Todd Rogers:

Educated as an automotive mechanical engineer and a MBA, Mr. Rogers worked in design engineering, engineering analysis, test engineering, product planning and engineering administration at General Motors for 21 years.  He left GM to become the operating partner in a company providing assembly services to the big three auto companies and their suppliers, making specialty body style vehicles, vehicles that ran on natural gas and vehicles specially configured for van pooling

After buying out his partner, he expanded the business to Mexico and California, and diversified by acquiring three machining companies.  These companies made turned metal products like gears, bearings, screws and spacers.  He also started a franchised auto parts distribution company that sold maintenance parts to auto repair and auto lube shops.  Because of changing economic conditions and overseas sourcing of manufacturing, the businesses were closed in 2002.

After business ownership Mr. Rogers worked doing family financial planning, selling insurance and securities, earning both securities and insurance licenses.  He gravitated to helping people buy and sell businesses, and became a licensed business broker in Michigan and Florida working for a franchised brokerage, for a while as the manager.

He was twice lured back to corporate life, the first time doing sales and market development for medical billing and practice management company and the second time, doing similar work for an industrial engine manufacturing company. In addition recently he spent a year and a half working for a not for profit social service agency.

Mr. Rogers is a licensed Business Coach, licensed by the Professional Business Coaches Alliance and he maintains a Real Estate Salesperson License in the State of Michigan.
